Rotating photos showing examples of Dancing Peacock's jewellery

Deborah Hewertson first began making costume jewellery in the 1980s. She has since developed her skills to use many techniques to create unique pieces of jewellery - original works of art in miniature.

Deborah's unique designs combine her love of beautiful and decorative things, with a fascination with colour, light and historical design.

Dancing Peacock moved to its current premises in Penrith in April 2005. The shop has a bright pink facade, and the original Victorian features inside, including wood panelling and a fabulous staircase, provide a perfect showcase for Deborah's work.

The shop also sells accessories, such as locally produced scarves and handbags, and antique clocks. Visitors can also see Deborah or Nikki (the other resident designer) at work in the studio on the first floor.

Dancing Peacock also attends various trade and craft fairs across the country.

Deborah's partner, Gerald, is usually the person who welcomes you to Dancing Peacock, and is an important part of the team. Deborah's colleague, Nikki, makes much of the brightly coloured beaded jewellery on sale and is generally on hand to offer advice on design and colourways.

The studio also offers an extensive selection of vintage jewellery on the first floor.
